Animal Welfare:
The whole truth, nothing but the truth
The welfare of our animals is not just a label, but a concrete and verifiable commitment. Because animals raised in the right way and therefore healthy produce qualitatively better milk. That’s why we want to tell you everything we do, without filters or half-truths.
An animal raised with full respect for its welfare produces more milk and of better quality. This allows us to consume fewer resources and reduce CO2 emissions per litre of milk produced.
Our commitment is not limited to farming alone. For years we have been promoting a culture of sustainability in animal care and respect for the environment, with investments to minimise water consumption and alternative energy production systems.
When we talk about intensive farming, we immediately think of cows in poor conditions.
Wouldn’t it be better to imagine them free to graze? In theory yes, but the reality is more complex.
Our company is located in the heart of the Po Valley, a land characterised by scorching summers and long, rainy winters. Our cows, mainly Friesian cattle, have an ideal temperature of around 5 degrees and require 80 litres of water per day in winter, up to 180 litres in summer. Raising them outdoors in these conditions would not guarantee them the necessary welfare.
That’s why in our farms we offer spacious and comfortable environments – some enclosures reach the size of a football pitch – with full freedom of movement, play and socialisation. Controlled, hygienic and ventilated spaces, maintained at ideal temperatures: with fans and cooling in summer, barns protected from bad weather in winter.
Here our cows have fresh water always available, constant veterinary care and a balanced diet, specifically designed for each group of the herd: from young animals to pregnant cattle to those in production.

We guarantee in all our 200+ certified barns the ministerial ClassyFarm Standard, an authoritative and independent system created by the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies and the Ministry of Health to monitor animal welfare and correct administration of medicines according to strict regulations, based, among others, on respect for the 5 fundamental freedoms.
